In order to continue together in this wonderful adventure, we ask that you join those, such as Vroum Shorts, Tishirtskikill Staff, Hermes Condor aka Luis Vasconcelos and Cadel Aboubakar, who have decided to actively participate in the development of Pirats, by becoming actual members of the corporation.
We thank you again for the confidence which you have shown in us.
You have followed the activity of Pirats for many months.
Our Group has progressed with great strides since its inception and in various ways:
Pirats is a corporation as defined by The French State according to “ law 1901 ",
the exhibition of more than 150 artists and creators,
creation of 5 permanent galleries on Second Life, representing more than 10,000 m² of exhibition zones, with nearly 7,000 single visitors and 40,000 visits during the last 6 months,
regular exhibitions in its partners’ exhibition spaces,
weekly gallery show openings that bring together up to 150 lovers of art from all over the world in the same time and place,
a web newspaper, Artung, containing original texts and interviews written in 2 languages,
a website which keeps track of this activity and shows these events via slideshows of the openings and the artists, which is visited by nearly 5,000 people coming from 67 different countries with a rise in readership of 17% per month,
the creation of the Ning social network whose activity rises by 31% each week with 1,066 visitors in less than 2 months,
the setting up of a very dynamic group with its own Facebook page which includes nearly 200 people who daily follow our information, our events and our photo albums,
a multiplicity of events which occur simultaneously in both Second Life and in real life with well-known partners; these would include exhibitions such as those of Patrick Moya both in Beausoleil and the Pikinasso gallery of Roanne as well as, thanks to the support of Patrick Moya and Christian Sinicropi, a simultaneous real life and virtual Second Life “Dinner in the Sky " which was organized by the magazine Cuisine Créative,
agreements are in progress with real life exhibition spaces for the simultaneous broadcast of exhibitions in Second Life along with the broadcast of real life exhibitions by artists who belong to the Pirats network, all to take place within the next months.
All these actions resulted in allowing some artists to find exhibition spaces, some of which are permanent, or to find an agent who now allows their work to be distributed and regularly shown.
Pirats, is also an ethic, a moral code, with the desire to put art and its creation at the center of our work, which therefore translates into a lack of payment for all of our endeavors.
All who take part in the work of Pirats, without exception, are volunteers, but the infrastructure, which allowed the development of Pirats, is not free.
Pirats was allowed to develop thanks to sponsors such as Dominique Vernageau aka Etoile16 Food, treasurer of the corporation, who offered Pirats the initial purchase of our main region Pirats Art Network, the Cosmopolits and Bourbon Island companies who financed the Pirats web server, and also thanks to such partners as PrinceDeProvence Albatros of Second France, Kristaki Hudson of Coral Estate and minijean Dodonpa of Bourbon Island who showed their faith in us by offering us installation on their property.
